From Back Stage’s “Blog Stage”, June 29, 2010 [hat tip to David Cote]

StudentRush.org, a new website providing discounted ticket information, [launched] July 1. The brainchild of veteran theater producer and professor Eric Krebs, the site was created to provide an alternative for students with limited means.  “Introducing young people to live theater has been one of the continuing missions of my life,” says Krebs. “We must do everything we can to encourage the next generation of theatergoers.”  StudentRush.org will provide information on how to obtain admission to theatrical and other artistic events at low costs.  While focusing on student rush, lottery, and standing room tickets, the site will also highlight ways to obtain discounts or free tickets at museums, film venues and television events.  Up-to-date offers and information will also be available via Twitter and Facebook.
