Did you know that the Bronx Museum of the Arts boasts a unique collection that focuses on contemporary art by artists of African, Asian and Latin American descent? How about the Bronx Cultural Trolley? It takes you on a FREE ride exploring the borough’s thriving gallery scene on the first Wednesday of each Month (except January and February) including the Longwood Art Gallery at Hostos Community College. The next one is on July 1.
Also on that day is the city’s first Independence Day celebration at Orchard Beach, featuring fireworks and live performances, starting at 7:00pm. On July 11, at Pelham Park, It’s Family Fun Day from 10:00am-3:00pm with an outdoor movie screening at 8:00pm. The Theater for the New City’s award winning theater company opens is annual city tour on August first reaching the Bronx on Saturday August 29 at St. Mary’s Park for a 2:pm performance.
The Bronx Museum of Arts, the Bronx River Arts Center and the Bronx YMCA and Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center and The Bronx Conservatory of Music all offer a range of classes in arts & crafts, music, photography and more…
